The Center Theatre Group production of Amélie, A New Musical, based on the Academy Award-winning 2001 French film Amélie, opens its Los Angeles tryout at the Ahmanson Theatre December 16, for a run through January 15, 2017. L.A. previews began December 4.

Phillipa Soo, who wowed audiences in the original Off-Broadway run of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 and earned a Tony nomination as Best Actress in a Musical for her Broadway debut as Eliza Schuyler in Hamilton, plays the title role, Amélie Poulain. Adam Chanler-Berat (Next to Normal) plays her leading man.
