Working, the short-lived 1978 Broadway musical based on the book by Studs Terkel that was originally adapted by Stephen Schwartz, who also contributed songs alongside other composers, is receiving its European premiere at London’s Southwark Playhouse. Performances began June 2 prior to an official opening June 7, for a run through July 8.

The new version of the musical is adapted by Schwartz and Nina Faso, with additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg. In addition to Schwartz, other songs are by Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mary Rodgers and Susan Birkenhead, and James Taylor.
