Alex Lacamoire, music director of Hamilton, orchestrated this new version of Oscar Hammerstein II and Georges Bizet's Carmen Jones, based on the opera Carmen by Bizet and the novel by Prosper Mérimée. It currently plays the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with additional dates to follow in Cologne and London. Read more about it here.

The work now becomes a Cuban musical, the first of its kind, still based on Bizet but in Spanish and set in Havana, on the eve of the Cuban revolution.
