Those performances (May 17-18) will be replaced by an additional preview May 22, which will now become the show's first public preview, and another extra performance to be scheduled during a forthcoming holiday period, to be announced.

According to a press statement, "Unforeseen problems in the delivery of a piece of stage engineering by a contractor have caused delays to the schedule." Ryan Petersen, a spokesman for the production, commented, "The whole production team is frustrated by this unforeseen delay in what has otherwise been a very smooth and exciting rehearsal period."

The new musical features a book by David Greig, music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman. Sam Mendes directs.
