Kristen Coury, founder and producing artistic director of Gulfshore Playhouse, will direct the four-person musical comedy about a pair of newlyweds (played by Brian Cooper and Summer Broyhill) whose happiness is contrasted with the views of a couple of oldyweds (played by Cox and Berger). Cox was a Tony Award nominee for Broadway's Baby and was one of the moms in Footloose. Berger has appeared on "Law & Order" and in Broadway's The Pajama Game, Little Me and Into the Woods, among others.
Performances play March 27-April 5 at the Norris Center in Naples, FL. Gulfshore productions play at borrowed spaces as the young troupe dreams of a new and permanent home.
The southwest Florida staging marks the sixth production of the original, marriage-minded musical comedy by librettist-lyricist Sean Grennan and composer Leah Okimoto. The writers have four more productions lined up for 2008-09. It's also currently playing in Kansas City, in a production that stars Barry Williams of TV's "The Brady Bunch."
Musical director for the Florida run is Keith Levenson.
