News FL Premiere of Musical Married Alive! to Star Catherine Cox and Stephen Berger Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, FL, will stage the Florida premiere of the hot regional property Married Alive!, to feature Broadway veterans Catherine Cox and Stephen Berger.

Kristen Coury, founder and producing artistic director of Gulfshore Playhouse, will direct the four-person musical comedy about a pair of newlyweds (played by Brian Cooper and Summer Broyhill) whose happiness is contrasted with the views of a couple of oldyweds (played by Cox and Berger). Cox was a Tony Award nominee for Broadway's Baby and was one of the moms in Footloose. Berger has appeared on "Law & Order" and in Broadway's The Pajama Game, Little Me and Into the Woods, among others.

Performances play March 27-April 5 at the Norris Center in Naples, FL. Gulfshore productions play at borrowed spaces as the young troupe dreams of a new and permanent home.

The southwest Florida staging marks the sixth production of the original, marriage-minded musical comedy by librettist-lyricist Sean Grennan and composer Leah Okimoto. The writers have four more productions lined up for 2008-09. It's also currently playing in Kansas City, in a production that stars Barry Williams of TV's "The Brady Bunch."

Musical director for the Florida run is Keith Levenson.
