Leslie B. Danzig directs a cast that includes Chicago stars Rengin Altay, Adrianne Cury, Amy Matheny, Wendy Robie and Peggy Roeder. Dramaturgy is by artistic associate Jessica Thebus.
Performances play Theater Wit at 1229 W. Belmont in Chicago. Opening night is Nov. 19.
Float was first featured as a workshop in About Face's XYZ Festival of New Work 2009. In the play, "set in a fictional small Midwestern town," the bonds between five women are tested "as they grapple with religion, identity, sexuality, secrets, and the building of the holiday parade float."
About Face artistic director Bonnie Metzgar said, "Pat Kane is one of the most exciting female playwrights working in Chicago today. As Pat's longtime artistic home, About Face is honored to present this emotionally rich and funny new play to her hometown audience."
AFT presented the world premiere run (and remount) of Kane's hit Pulp.
