The evening features Henderson sharing songs and stories from her long career on stage and television, along with "a no-holds-barred Q&A segment," according to press notes. The inspiration for the event came from Henderson's longstanding friendship with Vilanch, who has written for her one-woman show and wrote several of the "Brady Bunch Hour" variety specials that followed the run of Henderson's classic sitcom "The Brady Bunch."
In addition to her run as Carol Brady on "The Brady Bunch," Henderson appeared on Broadway in Wish You Were Here, Fanny and The Girl Who Came to Supper. She also starred in the national tour of The Sound of Music. She was a co-host of NBC's "Later Today" and was recently seen in the film "Venus and Vegas."
Vilanch appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and on television on "Hollywood Squares" opposite Whoopi Goldberg. He was written for ten Academy Awards broadcasts, in addition to many other awards shows and concert acts for Bette Midler, Michael Feinstein and Diana Ross. Platinum, a 1978 musical he co-wrote, will be revived this summer as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street in East Hampton, NY. Tickets are $65 and $45; a special $85 VIP ticket includes a post-performance reception with Henderson and Vilanch. To order tickets and for more information, visit guildhall.org.
