Following the English premiere of Florian Zeller’s The Truth at the Menier Chocolate Factory (and a subsequent West End transfer), the London company will debut the English-language adaptation of Zeller’s The Lie. The production will again feature a translation by Christopher Hampton and direction by Lindsay Posner.
Performances of The Lie will run September 14 through November 18, with an official opening night set for September 27.
The Lie follows Alice, who witnesses her friend’s husband with another woman and must contemplate whether to tell her friend what she saw—or to lie.
The production will feature set design by Anna Fleischle, costumes by Loren Elstein, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Gregory Clarke, and original music by Isobel Waller-Bridge. Casting will be announced at a later date.
Hampton has also adapted Zeller’s The Mother and The Father into English—the latter transferred to Broadway and earned Frank Langella a Tony Award.
