News Fly By Night: A New Musical Set to Release Cast Recording The Drama Desk-nominated Off-Broadway production Fly By Night: A New Musical, which played at Playwrights Horizons last spring, is set to release an original cast recording June 9.

The acclaimed score has been recorded, produced and mixed by Emmy Award winner and Grammy Award nominee Michael Croiter (Matilda, Big Fish, Murder Ballad) and will be released in digital and CD formats. It may be purchased or pre-ordered at YellowSoundLabel and PHnyc, as well as through online outlets such as iTunes and in stores nationwide.

Adam Chanler-Berat Stars as a Melancholy Sandwich Maker in New Rock Musical Fly By Night, With Allison Case and Patti Murin

Conceived by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still), written by Will Connolly (Once), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents) and Rosenstock and directed by Carolyn Cantor, the musical is a dark comedy rock fable set against the backdrop of the northeast blackout of 1965. Fly By Night: A New Musical follows the story of a melancholy sandwich maker whose life is changed by two entrancing sisters. It was recently nominated for four Drama Desk nominations, including Outstanding Musical.

The cast album reunites the entire original cast including Allison Case, Adam Chanler-Berat, Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Peter Friedman, Michael McCormick, Patti Murin, Drama Desk Award nominee Bryce Ryness and Obie Award winner Henry Stram. It also features the show’s original onstage musicians, the band Foe Destroyer, which includes Daniel Garcia, Chris McQueen and Cade Sadler. Musical direction is by Vadim Feichtner.

The CD release will also include a 24-page color booklet featuring complete lyrics, production photos by Joan Marcus, show credits and a synopsis by Rosenstock.
