New York Theatre Worshop celebrates the official opening of The Bengsons’ Hundred Days, a new folk-punk musical about embracing life as if you only had 100 days to live. The production, directed by Anne Kauffman, premieres December 4 after beginning previews November 15.

In Hundred Days, real-life married couple Abigail and Shaun Bengson (Iphigenia in Aulis) detail the story of how they fell in love more than a decade ago. The show features a book co-written with The Place We Built playwright Sarah Gancher.

Kauffman, who returns to NYTW followed her acclaimed staging of Amy Herzog’s Mary Jane, directs a cast that also includes Jo Lampert (Joan of Arc: Into the Fire), Colette Alexander (you’ll still call me by name), Dani Markham (tUnE-yArDs), and Reggie D. White (I and You).

Hundred Days features movement direction by Obie Award winner Sonya Tayeh (you’ll still call me by name). The musical was originally commissioned, developed, and produced by Z Space and piece by piece productions.

The production features set and props design by Kris Stone (The Light Years), costume design by Sydney Gallas, set and lighting design by Andrew Hungerford (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and sound design by Nicholas Pope (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) with stage management by Lindsey Turteltaub.
