Among the productions currently offering special rates for Dec. 20 shows are Orson's Shadow, Dog Sees God, The Little Dog Laughed, RFK, Five Course Love, In the Continuum and Miss Witherspoon.
Orson's Shadow will offer a "50% discount for walk-up / day-of purchases, per availability," according to a production spokesperson, "for tonight's performance (and throughout the strike)."
Off-Broadway's new Dog Sees God, Confessions Of A Teenage Blockhead will offer $25 walk-up discounts for tonight's performance at the Century Center, confirmed a show representative.
Second Stage's world premiere presentation of Douglas Carter Beane's The Little Dog Laughed is offering $10 tickets for walk-up purchases for tonight only at the 7 PM performance with a print-out of their newsletter. Tickets are first-come, first-serve and subject to availability.
The Culture Project, by special arrangement with Winship Cook, Arleen Sorkin and Martin Davich, announced a special discounted $20 "walk-up" ticket to RFK at the box office of the downtown venue during during the transit strike. Geva Theatre Center and Five Course Love Company LLC also are providing a discount price of $39.50 per "walk-up" ticket at the box office for the comedy Five Course Love at the Minetta Lane Theatre. (This price has been available via other offers such as the Playbill.com club, but is apparently new for walkup customers.)
Off-Broadway company Primary Stages, in association with the Perry Street Theatre, Patrick Blake and Cheryl Wiesenfeld, will also give "walk-up" patrons a special discount of $45 for the recent transfer of In the Continuum at the Perry Street Theatre. (This price has been available via other offers such as the Playbill.com club, but is apparently new for walkup customers.)
Playwrights Horizons general manager William Russo told Playbill.com that tonight's audience at Christopher Durang's Miss Witherspoon can enjoy a discounted ticket price of $20.
