News Forbidden Broadway Dances with the Stars! to Begin June 28 Forbidden Broadway will return from its spring hiatus with a new edition of the Drama Desk Award-winning revue.

Entitled Forbidden Broadway Dances with the Stars!, the summer edition of Gerard Alessandrini's revue will begin performances at Off-Broadway's 47th Street Theatre June 28 at 8 PM. The new edition, according to press notes, "will feature past favorites in addition to new spoofs including South Pacific, Patti LuPone in Gypsy and Grease - You're the One That I Hate!" Casting will be announced shortly.

Forbidden Broadway: Rude Awakening, the last edition of the long-running revue, won the 2008 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revue. In his acceptance speech producer John Freedson said, "We accept this award in memory of the great costume designer Alvin Colt, who elevated our show and our lives for 15 years." During its lengthy run Forbidden Broadway has won six Drama Desk Awards and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre.

Show times for Forbidden Broadway Dances with the Stars! will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 7:30 PM with matinees Wednesdays at 2 PM, Saturdays at 4 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.
