The Gerard Alessandrini revue will play two evenings as part of the Minnesota Orchestra's Weekend Pops Series. A 60-piece orchestra conducted by Daniel Wachs will accompany Forbidden Broadway veterans Eric Gutman, Gina Kreiezmar, Leisa Mather and Kevin B. McGlynn. The 8 PM performances will also feature Catherine Stornetta at the piano.
Producer John Freedson said in a statement, "It will be great to finally hear our show as I've always wanted to hear it: with strings and brass." Reid McLean, Director of Presentations for the Minnesota Orchestra, added, "We're very excited — I think Forbidden Broadway is a great concept for Pops Orchestras."
