In one day, all box office records were broken, when tickets sales for the Old Town Theatre's upcoming production of Forever Plaid reached $28,340, almost tripling the previous record for that theatre, set by Forbidden Broadway in 1994. This figure reportedly surpasses the record ...Plaid set at the Canon Theatre in Los Angeles.
Eight hundred San Diegans showed up at the box office to buy preview tickets specially priced for that day only. At one point in the day, a line with nearly a three-hour wait prompted several theatregoers to call the box office from their cellular phones to check the availability of remaining tickets.
