The hit musical comedy Forever Plaid recently set a new record with its 1500th consecutive performance at The Theatre in Old Town. No other show in the history of San Diego has run this long. Other current local favorites such as Triple Express and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas have yet to reach this milestone.

Since November 1996, nearly 400,000 San Diego visitors and residents have seen this fast-paced, 90-minute musical comedy. Now in its fourth smash year, Forever Plaid is performed eight times a week in a 250-seat theatre, located in the heart of San Diego Old Town Historic State Park.

Written and directed by Stuart Ross, the key to the show's success in regional theatres across the country has been attributed to its amusing story line, to the nostalgic appeal of its 29 songs from the 50s and 60s; and to its four likable characters, Jinx, Sparky, Smudge and Frankie.

The continued strong demand for tickets by both San Diego residents and visitors assures that there is no end in sight for this run of the musical.

Theatre in Old Town is located at 4040 Twiggs St. For tickets and information call (619) 688-2494 or visit www.foreverplaid.com -- By Willard Manus
