Six couples from the cast of the torrid Argentine revue Forever Tango will perform numbers on NBC-TV's "Today Show" Tuesday morning, July 15, between 8:30 and 9 AM (ET). The event had been scheduled for Monday morning.
The dancers, accompanied by a quartet of musicians, will perform outdoors on a special stage for the TV audience and the throng of visitors to "Today"'s Rockefeller Center studio.
Among those appearing will be two of Forever Tango's standout dance couples, Cecilia Saia, the revue's icy blonde, and Guillermo Merlo and Claudia Mendoza, the revue's comic relief and big scene stealer, and her partner Luis Castro.
Forever Tango, now playing through Aug. 30 at New York's Walter Kerr Theatre on New York's West 48th Street, features 16 dancers, a vocalist, and an 11-member orchestra.
The instruments that give the tango its distinctive sound are the piano, violin, double bass, and the bandeleon, an instrument that's the first cousin to an accordion.
