News Forever Tango to Return to Shubert Sept. 28 Forever Tango, the Broadway dance revue that indulges in the romance, songs, sex and violence of Argentina's famed dance form, will resume performances Sept. 28 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre.

A return of Sept. 21 had been previously announced for the hot show that played a summer run July 20-Aug. 29. Performances will play to Nov. 28 at the Shubert, the famed Broadway house where A Chorus Line ruled for many years. Forever Tango's last Broadway engagement began June 17, 1997, for a limited run that was supposed to end Aug. 9, but was then extended several times before launching into an open run. It closed Aug 2, 1998, after 332 performances.

Tango enjoyed a 92-week run at San Francisco's Theatre on the Square a decade ago. After that, it made its way through Europe, Japan and the United States, before settling on Broadway.

Created by Luis Bravo, Forever Tango features popular Argentine songs and forms of the tango, taking the dance from its beginnings at turn-of-the-century bordellos to the steps the world recognizes today.
