Lisa Jolley stepped into the roles of Prudy Pingleton, Gym Teacher and Matron on July 4. She replaced Julie Halston who was with Hairspray for almost two years. Halston co-stars in the new CBS sitcom "The Class."
Hairspray tour star Aaron Tveit started Broadway performances as Link Larkin on July 18, the same day as his love interest, Amber Von Tussle (Haylie Duff).
Recently, the musical also welcomed a new Edna Turnblad, Blake Hammond, the respected character actor with Chicago and Broadway credits.
The company also features Tevin Campbell as Seaweed Stubbs, Shannon Durig as Tracy Turnblad, Stephen DeRosa as Wilbur Turnblad, Darlene Love as Motormouth Maybelle, Naturi Naughton as Inez, Kevin Meaney as Mr. Pinky et al and Jonathan Dokuchitz as Corny Collins.
Hairspray plays Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM; Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8 PM; Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM; Sunday at 3 PM.
