Four New York couples cope with the events surrounding the 9/11 terror attacks in Pillars of New York, a new musical having its East Coast premiere July 12 at St. Luke's Theatre Off-Broadway.
The limited run began previews July 6 and continues through September 7.
The musical has book, lyrics and music by Michael Antin and is directed by Jim Blanchette.
Program notes describe the play as “the story of events surrounding 9/11 as couples struggle in and around the tragedy. As the recovery happens, mentally and physically, for the couples, the therapist and author Jake Kelly evaluates his own personal loss and mortality as he explores others sides to the story.”
Featured in the cast are Nikki Casseri, Audrey Federici, Laura Kaldis, Tyler Knauf, Alex Lamb, April Leonhard, Max Meyers, Georgia Sackler, Cruz Santiago, Brandon Schraml and Jack Utrata.
The rest of the creative team includes Rocco Vitacco (musical direction and arrangements), SKS Theatrical (marketing and promotions), John B. Forbes (lighting design), Tim Secrest (AV and visual design), Hunter Dowell (costume design), Jessica and Jennifer Davison (sound design) and Megan Parker (set design) with casting by Tamra Pica Casting. John Lant is the executive producer.
