News Four Stage Works Earn 2006 "Edgar" Noms, Celebrating Mystery Writing The 2006 theatrical nominees for the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Awards, honoring the best in mystery writing, include four new works produced outside of New York City.

Nominated in the category of Best Play are River's End by Cheryl Coons (book and lyrics) and Chuck Larkin (music) at Marin Theatre Company; Safe House by Paul Leeper at Tennessee Stage Company; Matter of Intent by Gary Earl Ross at Theater Loft; and Mating Dance of the Werewolf by Mark Stein at Rubicon Theatre. The 60th annual Edgars — named for American mystery writer Edgar Allan Poe — will be given out at an April 27 banquet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan.
