Classic Arts News Frank Dans Appointed Cleveland Orchestra's Artistic Administrator Frank Dans, currently the artistic administrator of the Atlanta Symphony, has been appointed to the same post at the Cleveland Orchestra, effective in May.
Collaborating with music director Franz Welser-M‹st and executive director Gary Hanson, Dans will manage all aspects of artistic planning and programming for the orchestra, and will be responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with conductors, composers, singers, and instrumental soloists, according to a press release.

Dans has been at the ASO since 1994; prior to that he worked for the Orchestre symphonique de Montr_al from 1981 to 1994 in a number of capacities including music administrator.

Dans has also worked in the recording industry, serving as manager of the classical division of London Records of Canada. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from McGill University in Montr_al.
