News Fred Barton, Jay Rogers, Will Taylor Will Be Part of Free NYC Readings of Burly-Q! A Gay Burlesque Amas Musical Theatre will present free staged readings of Burly-Q! A Gay Burlesque, as part of the Amas Musical Theatre Lab series, beginning Dec. 13 at the Players Theatre.

Burly-Q!, created and directed by Phillip George (co-director of Forbidden Broadway), will play Dec. 13 at 6 PM and Dec. 14 at 3 PM and 7 PM.

The readings will feature a cast that includes Fred Barton, Andrew Briedis, Jay Rogers, Will Taylor, Jake Warnecke, Michael West and Hernando Umana.

Burly-Q! is written by George, Peter Morris, Fred Barton, Tom Orr and David Caldwell, with additional material by Brad Ellis, Ethan Fein, Matt Eisenstein, Dick Gallagher, Matt Ward and Steven Silverstein. The musical is billed as "a madcap tribute to classic American burlesque, with a treasure trove of priceless routines seen through a gay lens."

The presentations are part of the ongoing Amas Musical Theatre Lab, a development series for writers, lyricists and composers to mount staged readings of their new musicals free to the public.
