Gielen will direct the stage play based on his own screenplay.
Rapp and Peck will be joined by Frank Vitolo ("Law & Order"), Katie Broad (The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side) and Kate White (Sunburn). The 7 PM reading is free and open to the public.
Deleted Scenes, according to presenters, "observes two ex-friends, an actor, Josh (Peck) and a director, Brian (Rapp), forced to reunite during the Director's Commentary recording for their hit indie film, 'South Bronx.' Set five years after the film's release and their subsequent falling out, Josh is now a rising star and Brian, an ever-suffering auteur. In this multi-media production, the audience watches clips of 'South Bronx' as tension builds between the two old rivals. Wits are matched, fists are thrown and women are used, all in an attempt to prove which one has really ended up on top."
The reading marks the launch of film production company Believe Limited's theatrical division. It is headed by Gielen, with James Kautz, Patrick Morris, Patrick James Lynch and Katy Wright-Mead.
A pre-show open bar reception begins at 6:30 PM with a Q&A session to follow the performance. Reservations are required and can be made at [email protected]. The Peter Jay Sharp Theater is located at 416 W. 42nd Street.
