The 7 PM reading, which will be directed by Pam MacKinnon, is part of the theatre's Out Loud series. Those scheduled to take part in the performance include Betsy Aidem, Suli Holum, Aaron Staton and Phoebe Strole. Shield of Faith, according to press notes, is "a provocative and unflinching look at one mother's desperate attempt to rescue her daughter from the seductive clutches of a local cult."
Playwright Etan Frankel has also penned Create Fate, The Fearless, Truth and Reconciliation, Paralyzed and The Treehouse. A graduate of Duke University and Juilliard's Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program, he is a two-time recipient of Lincoln Center's Le comte du Nouy Award.
