Barefoot Theatre Company presents a free reading of Mando Alvarado's new play On the 5:31, chronicling the ten-year span of a flawed relationship, April 8 at The Loft (East 3rd Productions) in New York City, as part of the company's "bareNaked Reading Series."

Directed by Jerry Ruiz, the 7 PM reading features Bernardo Cubria, Stephanie Janssen (Clive at The New Group, Death of a Salesman) and Raye Levine.

In On the 5.31, which travels back and forth across the ten-year span of a relationship, "a grieving Benny tries to piece back together the fragments of his marriage with his late wife Sandra, after finding out about her infidelity and coming clean about his own," according to Barefoot.

Alvarado's play Basilica, also directed by Ruiz, will be presented by Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre at the Cherry Lane Theatre beginning May 1.

The "bareNaked Reading Series" has previously presented readings of Joe Pintauro's Snow Orchid, Mike Reiss' Rubble and Hilary Bettis' Alligator, among others. Molly Marinik is the series' program director, and Jennie West is co-producer.

The Loft (East 3rd Productions) is located at 684 Broadway, #5W, at the corner of Broadway and East 3rd Street. Admission is free with a confirmed RSVP; seating is limited. To RSVP, send the play title, number of seats requested and contact information to barefootRSVP@aol.com. For more information, visit BarefootTheatreCompany.org.
