News Free Reading of Social Services, with Connolly, Pill and Perez, Offered Dec. 15 Ars Nova's free play-reading series, Out Loud, continues Dec. 15 with Victor Kaufold's Social Services.

Directed by Sam Gold, the performance is scheduled to feature the talents of Starla Benford, Kristen Connolly, Adapero Oduye, Allison Pill, Gio Perez and Jasmin Tavarez. Show time is 7 PM.

In Social Services, press notes state, "Emma, a young person of privilege, finds work at an urban community center. She hopes the new job will give her life direction. Then the sex scandal happens. In its bewildering, complicated aftermath, Emma reaches for answers to questions way out of her depth."

Kaufold's full-length plays include The Why, Tethered, The Special Interest Case of Special Agent Esteban Martinez, Muke the Inquisitive, The Death of Milton Hubbell and Bridesburg. Kaufold currently teaches English at Borough of Manhattan Community College and holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
