News   Freud Frenzy! Blazer, Edelman, McGinnis Sing Songs of Neurosis in Crazy Rhythms May 6-7 Crazy Rhythms is the title of the latest musical theatre cabaret show being presented in conjunction with an exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York.

Expect show tunes about losing your mind — including Stephen Sondheim's "Losing My Mind."Michael Montel directs the new show, which offers "Broadway's take on New York City's fabled neuroses," 3 PM May 6-7.

The fifth cabaret in the Museum's "Perform" series, Crazy Rhythms is inspired by the Museum's new exhibition "On the Couch: Cartoons from The New Yorker," marking the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sigmund Freud.

The show features the music of George and Ira Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Cole Porter, and Stephen Sondheim, including songs from Lady in the Dark, Guys and Dolls, Nine, and Follies, along with such novelties as Kurt Weill's "Psychiatry Song," Frank Loesser's "Adelaide's Lament," and two Gershwin rarities.

The cabaret will star Judy Blazer (Titanic, Me and My Girl, Bernarda Alba), Gregg Edelman (Wonderful Town, 1776, Into the Woods), Mark Richard Ford (Rent, Dreamgirls), Megan McGinnis (Little Women, Thoroughly Modern Millie). Written and directed by Montel, the performance is music directed by Lawrence Yurman.
