CHICAGO -- Chicagoans Doug Frew and Patti McKenny and Chicago native Dan Sticco have just won ASCAP's Bernice Cohen Award for Outstanding New Musical of the Year for their show, 90 North. The musical, which was produced in a showcase format this summer at the Berkshire Theatre Festival (sponsored jointly by ASCAP and Stage One), has also been nominated for the Sammy Cahn Lyricist Award and is under consideration for the next "Broadway Bound" recording.

The true-life musical is about an Inuit youth who discovers a cowardly new world when polar explorer Robert Peary takes him to America for exhibition in a museum.
