With heavy rains forecast and a citywide suspension of mass transit, FringeNYC executives cancelled the final weekend of the three-week festival, which launched Aug. 11. Some 42 performances alone were scuttled on Saturday.
The "Fringe NYC Make-Up" series will be staged Sept. 1-4 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.
Among the shows currently announced for the "Make-Up" series are The Big "A" (Sept. 1 at 7 PM); Bette Davis Ain't For Sissies (Sept. 2 at 7 PM); The F*cking World According To Molly (Sept. 2 at 9 PM); and Bobby and Matt (Sept. 4 at 7 PM).
FringeNYC has also announced additional details for its "Encore Series," which invites back hit, standout productions from the annual festival. It will be presented Sept. 9-26 at the Players Theatre and the SoHo Playhouse.
The SoHo Playhouse will host After Anne Frank, facebook me, The More Loving One, Fourteen Flights and PigPen Presents The Mountain Song. Set for the SoHo Playhouse's Huron Club are Paper Cut, You Only Shoot The Ones You Love, Bongani and Who Loves You Baby?
The Players Theatre will house I Will Be Good; Araby; Felony Friday; Pearl's Gone Blue; The Legend of Julie Taymor, or The Musical That Killed Everybody!; Parker & Dizzy's Fabulous Journey to the End of the Rainbow; COBU - Dance like Drumming, Drum like Dancing; Noir and Jersey Shoresical: A Frickin' Rock Opera.
