Emerson Steele, featured on the New York stage in Violet and Parade, debuted her solo show Roles I Can’t Play Now … Or Ever … Except Tonight! Oct. 14 at 7 PM at 54 Below. We have pics of Steele and her special guest performers!

"Every performer has received the feedback: 'Sorry, you’re not young/old/tall/short/MALE enough for this role,'" according to notes.

"So what’s a girl to do? With tongue in cheek, with humor and heart, bringing songs, stories, dances, and goofy antics, 2014 Theatre World Award winner, Emerson Steele, turns the norms upside down and for one night will play the roles she has always wanted to play – and some she hopes to play in the future!"

Steele was joined by special guests, including Gabriella Baldacchino (A Christmas Story), original Matilda star Sophia Gennusa, longtime Broadway favorite Annie Golden (Hair), Derek Klena (Wicked, The Bridges of Madison County), Michael Nigro ("Sound of Music Live" on NBC), Charlie Pollock (Violet, Urinetown) and Mavis Simpson-Ernst (Evita.

The evening consisted of a wide variety of songs, ranging from Company to Heathers to Ariana Grande. Highlights included "Corner of the Sky," "One Day More," "This Is Not Over Yet," "Not Getting Married Today" and "Didn't I See This Movie." The evening concluded with Steele welcoming a surprise guest: her mother Laura, who joined her for a touching duet of "The Spark of Creation."

Ilana Ransom-Toeplitz directed, with musical direction by Sonny Paladino.

Steele will next be seen in an Atlanta production of Andrew Lippa's A Little Princess.
