News From Page to Stage, A Season of New Musical Theatre Writing, to Take Place at London's Landor Theatre A four-week season of new musical theatre writing will be presented under the umbrella title From Page to Stage at London's Landor Theatre, running Feb. 13-March 17.

Produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment and the Landor's Robert McWhir, it will comprise readings, showcases and revues of international new musical theatre work with a focus on British writing, presenting the work of over 40 writers.

David Krane and Stephen Cole's The Road to Qatar!, previously seen at Off-Broadway's York Theatre in 2011, will receive its London debut in a reading being presented Feb. 16-17. This musical comedy about two American musical theatre writers commissioned to write a larger-than-life Broadway-style musical for the Emir of Qatar will be directed by Kate Golledge with musical direction by George Dyer and a cast that includes Kimberley Blake, Nic Gibney, Ralph Bogard, David McKechnie and Sami Lamine.

Alexander Bermange's The Route to Happiness will be presented for a run from Feb. 19-24. The musical charts the individual and interweaving experiences of three present-day Londoners in pursuit of their respective dreams: finding love, making money, and becoming famous. Robert McWhir will direct a cast that includes Shona White, Cassidy Janson and Niall Sheehy.

Denise Wright and Chris Burgess' Emerald will receive a staged reading, directed by Nikolai Foster with musical direction by Sarah Travis, on March 13, with Claire Sweeney as a New Yorker in search of the quiet life in an Irish seaside town. But a quiet life is the last thing she gets! The cast will also include Helena Blackman, Glenn Carter, Seven Stephan, JP Hevey, Sue Kelvin and Michael Cantwell.

Pippa Cleary, recent winner of the Arts Foundation Award for composition of musicals, and her writing partner Jake Brunger will premiere A British Boy in Brooklyn Feb. 28. Other events include programs featuring the music of composers Annemarie Lewis Thomas (Feb. 15), Richard Beadle (Feb. 24), Andy Collyer (March 3, 3 PM), Lee Freeman (March 3, 7:30 PM) and Dougal Irvine (March 17).
