After winning six Tony Awards in 1998, Disney's The Lion King has been one of the toughest tickets to get, even today. But now Playbill Travel, in association with Dailey-Thorp Travel, can have you sitting in one of those hot seats. And, to further enjoy your Easter Weekend In New York from April 12-16 you'll also attend four sold-out opera performances.

On Thursday, April 12, arrive at the elegant Park Lane Hotel overlooking beautiful Central Park South, just off Fifth Avenue, where a welcome reception and dinner will be provided for you. That evening, your entertainment begins with Douglas Moore's "The Ballad of Baby Doe" at the New York City Opera. George Manahan conducts and Colin Graham directs one of the popular classics of American opera, starring Elizabeth Futral, Joyce Castle and Mark Delavan.

The following day will find you on a 57th Street Art Gallery Stroll, a tour visiting several of the leading art houses, before finishing at Michael's Restaurant, where you will enjoy a luncheon amid a marvelous private art collection. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own, then get ready for your next performance, the Metropolitan Opera's presentation of Wagner's "Parsifal" starring Violeta Urmana and Plácido Domingo.

Saturday morning is at your leisure. You start the afternoon with a classic opera at the Met, "Ariadne auf Naxos" by Richard Strauss, conducted by James Levine and performed by a cast that includes Deborah Voigt, Natalie Dessay, Susanne Mentzer and Wolfgang Brendel. Following the show, enjoy dinner under the glimmering Austrian chandeliers at the Metropolitan Opera House.

That evening, you may experience a bit of déjà vu as Plácido Domingo steps down from the stage and into the orchestra pit to conduct the night's performance of Verdi's "Un Ballo in Maschera" with Michele Crider and Youngok Shin. On Easter Sunday, the morning is yours to venture out in the Big Apple. Then, put on your bonnet, and dress in your Sunday's best for dinner at the oak-clad Oak Room at the luxurious Plaza Hotel. Then for the special egg in your basket, enjoy your night at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre for the wonder that is The Lion King. Julie Taymor directed the production that was adapted for the stage by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi with lyrics and music by the dynamic duo of Tim Rice and Elton John.

The cost of the tour is $2,825 per person, with a single-room supplement for $595. For an additional night's stay, add $310. Please make checks payable to: DAILEY-THORP TRAVEL, 330 West 58th Street, Suite 610, New York, NY 10019-1817.
