Robert Evan's people continue to negotiate with the Paper Mill Playhouse over the theatre's recent offer for Evan to play the part of Mr. Snow in the spring production of Carousel. Theatre sources said a casting announcement would be made as soon as contracts are signed.

As reported, Matt Bogart (Miss Saigon and Adam Pascal's standby in Aida) will lead the cast as Billy Bigelow in a Paper Mill Playhouse production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical, Carousel, beginning May 30. Tickets are on sale now for Paper Mill's Carousel, which opens June 1 and will run through July 15.

Joining Bogart in Carousel are Jim Newman as Jigger (Paper Mill's Pippin), Glory Crampton as Julie Jordan (Paper Mill's Gigi, Nine, Jane Eyre, and The Student Prince), Christiane Noll as Carrie Pipperidge (Paper Mill's The Student Prince) and Eddie Bracken ("The Miracle of Morgan Creek," "Hail, The Conquering Hero") as the Starkeeper.

The creative team for Carousel comprises director Robert Johanson, choreographer Robert La Fosse and musical director Tom Helm.
