Ellen DeGeneres hosted the Academy Awards, which were presented at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
Produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, the evening featured several performances of interest to theatre fans. Tony winner Idina Menzel performed the Oscar-winning song "Let It Go" from "Frozen," while Oscar nominee and Grammy winner Bette Midler, who was recently on Broadway in I'll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers, performed on the Academy Awards for the first time (singing "Wind Beneath My Wings").
In addition, Tony Award and Oscar winner Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft, children of late Oscar nominee and film legend Judy Garland, were on hand to commemorate the 75th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." Grammy Award winner Pink performed "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
"12 Years a Slave" took home top honors at the awards ceremony, receiving trophies for Best Picture and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Lupita Nyong'o).
