News Frug Til You Drop: Valerie Wright Is Sweet Charity for Barrington Stage June 24-July 17 Broadway veteran Valerie Wright stars as Charity Hope Valentine in Barrington Stage Company's revival of Sweet Charity June 24-July 17 in Sheffield, Massachusetts.

Rob Ruggiero directs and Ralph Perkins choreographs the new production of the quirky, dance filled 1966 musical by Neil Simon, composer Cy Coleman and lyricist Dorothy Fields. The staging kicks off BSC's 10th anniversary season.

Among Wright's Broadway credits are her feature roles in Annie Get Your Gun, Damn Yankees, Steel Pier, Sally Marr and Her Escorts starring Joan Rivers and Cats. Wright has also appeared in many Off Broadway, regional productions and national tours.

Playing opposite Wright as Charity's mismatched love interest, Oscar, is Karl Kenzler, most recently seen as Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet at the Guthrie Theater. He also appeared on Broadway in The Caretaker, Dinner at Eight and The Heiress.

Kenya Massey is Helene. An Alvin Ailey trained dancer, Massey's Broadway credits include roles in Fascinating Rhythm, Aida and Never Gonna Dance.

The role of Nicki will be played by Mary McCloud. Her Broadway credits include roles in Fosse, Seussical, Chicago, Company, Guys and Dolls and Smokey Joe's Cafe. She also performed in the national tours of Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Jerome Robbins' Broadway and Oklahoma! The role of Vittorio Vidal will be played by Nat Chandler, whose credits include roles in the Broadway production of The Scarlet Pimpernel and the national tours of Phantom of the Opera, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Into the Woods and The King and I. Gordon Stanley will play Herman. His Broadway credits include roles in Cabaret, Ragtime and Beauty and the Beast among others.

The cast also includes Gordon Stanley, Robert Scott Daye, Barry Brown, Keith Coughlin, William Daniels, Mindy Haywood, Ashley McHugh, Ryan Kelly, Kurtis Overby, Courtney Self, Toni Trucks, and Lisa Ziniti.

Michael Morris is musical director. Designers are Randy Hansen (sound), Michael Anania (scenic), Alejo Vietti (costume) and Tom Strurge (lighting).
