News Full Cast Announced for Old Vic Cinderella Full casting has been announced for Stephen Fry's version of Cinderella, this year's Old Vic Christmas show, which officially opens Dec. 9 following previews that begin Dec. 4.

The cast will be led by Shirley Valentine star Pauline Collins as The Fairy Godmother and broadcaster and comedienne Sandi Toksvig as the narrator.

Fiona Laird's production will also feature Debbie Chazen (Midsummer Night's Dream in the West End) as The Queen; Oliver Chopping (The Musicians at the Nationals Theatre Studios) as Dandini; Hal Fowler (High Society); Mark Lockyer (Vernon God Little) in a multi-role performance as The Ugly Sisters; Paul Keating Don Carlos) as Buttons; Joseph Millson Pillars of the Community as Prince Charming; and Madeleine Worrall (Three Sistters) as Cinderella.

Ever since Ian McKellen's Widow Twankey in Aladdin, The Old Vic's Christmas offering has become a highly anticipated show on London's theatrical landscape.

The multi-faceted Fry became well known to television audiences playing opposite Hugh Laurie in the sitcom Blackadder. On screen he has played Oscar Wilde and caused headlines and concern for his health when he walked out on the West End production of Cell Mates in 1995.

Commenting on the venue's latest offering, artistic director Kevin Spacey said, "I'm enormously pleased by the range of talented artists joining us to make Cinderella a truly spectacular event this Christmas. The combination of such British favorites as Pauline Collins and Sandi Toksvig with a remarkable range of young and talented cast from stage, television and film will create something truly special. I can't wait to see how they all bring to life Stephen's marvelously witty story and characters to the sound of Anne Dudley's great new songs. It's the perfect celebration of The Old Vic's vaudeville history and a great deal of fun." For more information on Cinderella, which is booking until Jan. 20, 2008, call (0)870 060 6628.
