The new version of Ibsen’s play comes to the London theatre in October.

The Donmar Warehouse has announced full casting for its new version of Henrik Ibsen’s The Lady From the Sea, beginning performances October 12.

In this version by Elinor Cook, Nikki Amuka-Bird, as previously announced, will play Ellida. She will be joined by Ellie Bamber, Jake Fairbrother, Jim Findley, Jonny Holden, Finbar Lynch, Tom McKay, and Helena Wilson.

Directed by Kwame Kwei-Armah, the lighthouse-keeper’s daughter, Ellida, is trapped in an unhappy marriage and yearns for the ocean. When a former flame walks back into her life after years of silence, Ellida must choose between freedom and the life she now leads.

The production features design by Tom Scutt, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by Emma Laxont, and music by Michael Bruce.
