News Full Casting Announced for Piaf at Leicester's Curve, Starring Frances Ruffelle The full cast has been announced for the new production of Pam Gems' Piaf, which begins performances Feb. 22 at Leicester's Curve, prior to an official opening Feb. 26, for a run through March 16; the production is expected to tour afterwards.

Joining the previously announced Frances Ruffelle in the title role are Oliver Boot, Jason Denton, Sean Dodds, Tiffany Graves, Russell Morton, Laura Pitt-Pulford, Dale Rapley and Stephen Webb. Ruffelle, who created the role of Eponine in the original RSC/Cameron Mackintosh production of Les Miserables and won a Tony Award for reprising it on Broadway, was most recently seen on the London stage playing Fastrada in Pippin at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Other credits include originating the role of Dinah in Starlight Express, and she has also played Roxie Hart in Chicago in the West End and starred in her own solo show Beneath the Red Dress at the Edinburgh Fringe, Menier Chocolate Factory and the West End's Garrick Theatre.

Curve artistic director Paul Kerryson will direct this new production that marks the 50th anniversary of Piaf's death. The original production of Piaf was produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1979 at the Donmar Warehouse, and subsequently transferred to the West End and Broadway with Jane Lapotaire in the title role. It has since been revived twice in London, with Elaine Paige at the Piccadilly and with Elena Roger at the Donmar Warehouse (subsequently transferring to the Vaudeville).
