Further casting has been announced for the new production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel that is being co-produced by English National Opera and the GradeLinnit Company for a run at the London Coliseum. The production begins performances April 7 prior to an official April 11 for a run through May 13.
Joining the previously announced Alfie Boe as Billy Bigelow and Katherine Jenkins as Julie Jordan are Nicholas Lyndurst as Star Keeper, Brenda Edwards as Nettie Fowler, Alex Young as Carrie Pipperidge and Gavin Spokes as Enoch Snow. Also in the cast are Derek Hagen as Jigger Craigin, Susan Kyd as Mrs. Mullin, Martyn Ellis as Mr Bascombe, and Davide Fienauri as Carnival Boy.
Other parts will be played by Bruce Aguilar Rohan, Thomas Audibert, Will Barratt, Jay Bryce, Danielle Cato, Jacob Chapman, Nolan Edwards, Alexander Evans, Lizzi Franklin, Alice Jane, Tessa Kadler, Hannah Kenna Thomas, Jasmine Leung, Leisha Mollyneaux, Rachel Muldoon, Saori Oda, Kane Oliver Parry, Daniel Perry, Alastair Postlethwaite, Joseph Poulton, Verity Quade, Genevieve Taylor, James Titchener, Adam Vaughan, Matthew Whennell-Clark, and Anna Woodside.
Lyndhurst was last seen in the West End in 2011 in The Tempest (Theatre Royal, Haymarket). Other West End credits include The Straight and Narrow at the Wyndham's Theatre, Peter Hall’s production of The Dresser at the Duke of York’s Theatre, and The Foreigner by Larry Shue at the Albery Theatre. Lyndhurst is best known for his TV work in series that include Only Fools and Horses, Goodnight Sweetheart, After You’ve Gone, Rock & Chips, Butterflies, and The Piglet Files.
