The season's lineup follows:

My Name is Asher Lev
By Aaron Posner
Nov. 23-Dec. 22

"Set in post-WWII Brooklyn, it tells the powerful story of a young Jewish painter torn between his Hasidic upbringing, and the desperate need to fulfill his artistic promise — against the will of family, community and tradition. This stirring adaptation of a modern classic presents a heartbreaking and triumphant vision of what it means to be an artist."

Antony & Cleopatra
By William Shakespeare
Adapted and directed by Tarell Alvin McCraney
Jan. 11, 2014-Feb. 9

"Adapted and directed by Miami's own award-winning playwright, Tarell Alvin McCraney, the production will be set in the late 1700s on the eve of the Haitian Revolution against the French, bringing to light vivid historical parallels with the story of Antony and Cleopatra. It will open at Stratford-upon-Avon and then transfer to Miami Beach — where our audiences will see it at the Colony Theatre on Lincoln Road — before it moves to The Public in New York. We will also be presenting free morning performances for thousands of Miami-Dade County Public School students." The Mountaintop
By Katori Hall
March 15-April 13

"The night before his assassination, after delivering one of his most memorable speeches, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. retires to room 306 in the now famous Lorraine Motel in Memphis. While a storm rages outside, a mysterious young maid arrives with some surprising news — and King is forced to confront his past and the future of his people."

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
By Christopher Durang
May 17-June 15

"Set in present-day Bucks County, PA, the play takes characters and themes from Chekhov's plays, pours them into a blender and mixes them up. Still running on Broadway, this riotous award-winning comedy depicts a family gathering for an unforgettable weekend of rivalry, regret and general hilarity. By the end of their impromptu reunion, this lovable group won't ever be the same!"

The Whale
By Samuel D. Hunter
July 19-Aug. 17

"On the outskirts of Mormon Country, Idaho, a six hundred pound recluse hides away in his apartment eating himself to death. Desperate to reconnect with his long-estranged daughter, he reaches out to her, only to find a viciously sharp-tongued and wildly unhappy teen. The play tells the story of a man's last chance at redemption and of finding beauty in the most unexpected places."

The Performers
By David West Read
Sept. 20-Oct. 19

"A romantic comedy about two high-school friends — and the women in their lives — who reconnect at the Adult Film Awards in Las Vegas. When the night takes an unexpected turn and relationships are threatened, Chuck Wood, the hardest-working man in the business, steps in to lend a hand. Sex, romance and Barry Manilow intersect in this comedy about the ups and downs and ins and outs of love."
