News Gabriel, Getz and Kanater Join Cast of Parker's Betrayed in Los Angeles Casting is now complete for the Los Angeles Theatre Works presentation of George Packer's Iraq War drama Betrayed, which begins performances Feb. 18.

As previously reported, the Los Angeles staging of Betrayed will reunite original Off-Broadway cast members Jeremy Beck, Sevan Greene and Waleed F. Zuaiter with director Pippin Parker. Previously announced cast member Mike Doyle will not reprise his work for the Los Angeles production.

Newcomers to the cast include Andrea Gabriel, John Getz and Sam Kanater. Betrayed will run through Feb. 22 at the Skirball Cultural Center.

Betrayed, according to press notes, "tells the story of three young Iraqis - two men and one woman - who were motivated to risk everything by America's promise of freedom. The award-winning play explores their complex relationships with each other and with their American supervisor as they struggle to find purpose even as their country collapses around them."

Born from Packer's 2007 New Yorker article about Iraqis risking their lives to aid the American war effort, Betrayed marked the playwrighting debut of journalist George Packer.

Betrayed will be presented at the Skirball Cultural Center and will be recorded and subsequently broadcast on L.A.T.W.'s nationally syndicated radio theatre series "The Play's the Thing." For tickets, priced $20-$48, to any of "The Play's The Thing" productions at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, call the L.A. Theatre Works box office at (310) 827-0889.
