Gabrielle Carrubba, who made her Broadway debut as an understudy in Dear Evan Hansen, takes over the role of Zoe Murphy in the Tony-winning musical beginning July 30 at the Music Box Theatre. She succeeds Mallory Bechtel, who played her final performance July 28 after a year in the role.

Carrubba, who has understudied the roles of Zoe and Alana Beck, has also been seen regionally at the American Repertory Theater, North Shore Music Theatre, and The Goodspeed Opera House’s Festival of New Musicals.

Dear Evan Hansen, directed by Michael Greif, features a Tony-winning book by Steven Levenson and a Tony-winning score by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The Broadway cast is currently headed by Andrew Barth Feldman in the title role.

As recently reported, original Dear Evan Hansen cast members Jennifer Laura Thompson and Michael Park will play their final performances as Cynthia and Larry Murphy August 4. Beginning August 6, Ivan Hernandez (who made his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn in Chicago) will take over the role of Larry Murphy, and Ann Sanders (Beauty and the Beast, The King and I) will temporarily take over the role of Cynthia Murphy (through October 20), with additional casting to be announced.
