The acclaimed singing actor will play Bass Performance Hall Feb. 19-21. Show times are Feb. 19-20 at 8 PM and Feb. 21 at 2 PM. Ron Spigelman will conduct the orchestra. The concerts are titled Music of the Night: Broadway Show Stoppers. Expect such tunes as "Luck Be a Lady," "Ol' Man River," "The Music of the Night" and more.

Gaines is replacing the previously announced, Tony-winning Mitchell, "whose scheduled performances have been canceled due to illness," according to the Fort Worth Symphony website.

Davis Gaines received the Bay Area Critics' Award for Best Actor for his work as the Phantom in the West Coast production of The Phantom of the Opera, a role he repeated on Broadway. His other theatrical credits include the world premiere of Whistle Down the Wind as well as Encores! The Boys From Syracuse; Hello, Dolly!; Forbidden Broadway and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Gaines has sung with virtually every major symphony orchestra in North America, and his two solo recordings, "Against the Tide" and "All My Tomorrows: Songs of Sammy Cahn," are available on LAP Records.

Tickets, priced $26-$78, are available by visiting www.fwsymphony.org or by calling (817) 665-6000.
