MCC Theater presents the readings that run through June 5. Proceeds benefit MCC's Playwrights' Coalition, the PlayLab readings and its literary development endeavors.
In addition to Galecki, Hamilton, Stiles and Eve, Filthy Talk also features Craig Bierko and Justin Long. The previously announced Bobby Cannavale and T.R. Knight will not appear due to scheduling conflicts. The readings promise short unseen works by LaBute. According to MCC, "Sex, sexism, bigotry and even 'Frank f----n' Sinatra' are all given the one-two punch in this finely fused attack on the degraded rubble we sometimes call American culture."
LaBute's plays include Reasons to Be Pretty, New Testament, Helter Skelter, Second of Pleasure, The Mercy Seat, The Distance From Here, In a Dark Dark House, Autobahn, bash: latter-day plays, The Shape of Things, and the films "In the Company of Men," "Your Friends and Neighbors," "Nurse Betty," "Possession" and "Wicker Man."
MCC will produce LaBute's The Break of Noon this fall under the direction of Jo Bonney.
For tickets, priced $39-$99, phone (212) 279-4200 or visit MCCTheater. The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located at 121 Christopher Street.
