Vassar & New York Stage and Film Powerhouse Theater's 25th anniversary season will include two play workshops.

Part of the Inside Look series, four performances of Slight Hitch and Shoe Story will be presented, respectively, July 17-19 and July 23-25. Lewis Black's Slight Hitch will be directed by Joe Grifasi and will feature Peter Maloney as Doc, Kristine Nielsen as Delia, Johnny Galecki as Ryan, Sarah Steele as P.B., Kathleen McElfresh as Melanie, Hannah Cabell as Courtney and Eric Bryant as Harper. Jenn Grutza is stage manager.

Thomas Kail will direct Ben Snyder's Shoe Story, which will feature Victor Rasuk as Peewee/Juney, Dominique Morisseau as Sarah/Sabrina, Angelo Lozada as Rob, Ron Simons as O.G. Mar, Jinn S. Kim as Yu, Lucas Papaelias as Customer 1, 4; and Dominic Colon as Customer 2, 3. The work is described as an "urban fairy tale of love, loss and the metaphysical significance of a fresh pair of kicks." Bobbito Garcia is the DJ; Emily Glinick is the stage manager.

Slight Hitch is sold out, although tickets are still available for Shoe Story, which will be presented in the Susan Stein Shiva Theater. For $20 tickets visit or call (845) 437-5599.


Since 1985, the Powerhouse Summer Theater Season, a collaboration between New York Stage and Film and Vassar, "has produced remarkable works of theatre and trained an entire generation of young artists" through its apprentice training program.
