It will play CPH's Bolton Theatre Oct. 12-Nov. 4. The Geva run continues to Sept. 30.
Christian Kohn is Sherlock Holmes, Nick Berg Barnes is Dr. Watson and Timothy Crowe is Moriarty in the mystery, drawing on Sir Arthur Conan's legendary detective character and based in part on the smash 1899 play, Sherlock Holmes, which was a vehicle for actor William Gillette (he has co-authorship credit with Doyle on the earlier play).
Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure "is a chilling mystery featuring the world’s greatest detective, the King of Bohemia, a notorious photograph, a kidnapping, and of course, Holmes' great nemesis, Professor Moriarty. At the end of Sherlock Holmes' remarkable career, it features one last great case, as well as the romance he sacrificed throughout his years of fame and glory."
Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure was recently nominated for a 2007 Edgar Allan Poe Award by the Mystery Writers of America. Crowe played Henry Higgins in Cleveland Play House's My Fair Lady, a hit last year for the resident Ohio company.
Tim Ocel will direct the play. The cast also includes Catherine Lynn Davis as Madge Larrabee; Krista Hoeppner as Irene Adler; Remi Sandri as King of Bohemia; Matthew Schneck as James Larrabee; and Jim Wisniewski as Sid Prince.
Christian Kohn appeared in Broadway's Hollywood Arms. Nick Berg Barnes appeared in Broadway's recent Journey's End.
The creative team includes Scotty Iseri (sound designer), Andrew Hopson (composer), Rob Koharchik (set designer), Pamela Scofield (costume designer) and Peter West (lighting designer).
