Andrew Volkoff directs Doug Wright's award-winning solo show, which will play Barrington's Stage II at VFW Hall through June 8. Gatton returns to the Barrington, where he also starred in the theatre company's production of Fully Committed.

I Am My Own Wife, according to the Barrington, "tells the true story of East German transvestite Charlotte von Mahlsdorf who incredibly eluded both the Nazis and the Communists with a combination of cleverness and deceit."

The creative team also includes costume designer Jacob A. Climer and assistant stage manager Barbara Janice Kielhofer.

VFW Hall is located at 36 Linden Street in Pittsfield, MA. For tickets, visit or call (413) 236-8888.

The Friday, May 23 performance, part of the 35 and Under series, is a "pay what you can" show with a minimum donation of $5.
