News Gen X Clowns Invade Off-B'way's Cherry Lane UPDATE: OFF-BROADWAY

UPDATE: OFF-BROADWAY Promising high-concept entertainment for the Generation X sensibility, The New Bozena, a troupe of three "post-modern" clowns, are set to christen Off-Broadway's newly-renovated Cherry Lane Theatre Oct. 22.

Billed as "A Slacker Vaudeville," The New Bozena follows the exploits of Ramón (David Costabile), Spiv Westenberg (Michael Dahlen) and Revhanavaannn Sahaanahanadaan (Kevin Isola) as they audition of a community theatre production of "the lost Albanian masterpiece" Winter Is the Coldest Season.

This iconoclastic ensemble was formed in 1995 when its members were graduate students at New York University. Part homage, part satire, they name as their influences the Marx Brothers, Monty Python and Blue Man Group.

The Cherry Lane Theatre is at 38 Commerce Street, off Seventh Avenue South in New York's Greenwich Village. Tickets are available from Telecharge at (212) 239-6200.
