News George Street's Our Town, Starring Tony Winner Boyd Gaines, Opens April 25 The George Street Playhouse's 40th season-ending production of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town officially opens at the New Jersey venue April 25 following previews that began April 22.

Performances continue through May 25.

Tony winner Boyd Gaines plays the Stage Manager; he is reunited with director David Esbjornson, who helmed the recent Broadway revival of Driving Miss Daisy, in which Gaines starred both in New York and London.

Gaines is joined by Pico Alexander as George Gibbs, Kati Brazda as Mrs. Gibbs, Aaron Ballard as Emily Webb, Sean Cullen as Doctor Gibbs, Wally Dunn as Professor Willard, Matthew Lawler as Simon Simpson, Kathleen McNenny as Mrs. Webb, Lee Sellars as Mr. Webb and Michael Sirow as Sam Craig with Christopher Gibbs as Joe Stoddard, Matthew Kuenne as Wally Webb, Mary McLain as Mrs. Soames, Christian Navarro as Si Crowell/Joe Crowell, Jr., Shazi Raja as Rebecca Gibbs, Brandon Rubin as Constable Warren and Dalton Gray as Howie Newsome.

Our Town marks the inaugural production of a collaboration between George Street and Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. Esbjornson serves as head of the theatre program there, and graduating MFA candidates are cast alongside seasoned professionals as part of this partnership.

“I am so pleased to welcome Boyd back to George Street,” said GSP artistic director David Saint in a previous statement. “He’s an extraordinary talent, and I couldn’t be more pleased that he is a part of this very special production in our 40th season." The village of Grover’s Corners and the world of Our Town are created by scenic designer Riccardo Hernandez, costume designer Beth Clancy, lighting designer Scott Zielinski, sound designer Ted Crimy and hair and wig designers David Bova and Jared Janus.
