Screen star George Takei ("Star Trek," "Heroes") may soon be seen on Broadway. Takei is scheduled to star with Tony Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in the new musical Allegiance, which is aiming for a Broadway bow in 2012.

Allegiance is described as "a new musical about love, loss and heroism in the backdrop of the Japanese American internment."

On his way to opening, Takei brings fans his original web series "The Road to Broadway." In his first episode, he explains that he is impatiently awaiting his Broadway bow and thinks that he should be considered for the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Since Spider-Man will soon make its official Broadway debut—without Takei in the leading role—he tries his luck at Broadway's Sister Act.
